The Red Devils got off to a great start Saturday afternoon against Wentworth Military Academy and never looked back. After the first couple of minutes Allen quickly jumped out to a double digit lead, and never had the lead threatened. Allen's defense was much improved from the night before, and Allen held Wentworth to 25 points in the first half, to Allen's 54 half time points. Allen held Wentworth to 25% shooting in the first half.
With the big lead Allen was able to play all 13 players with very balanced minutes. Allen finished the game with 6 players reaching double figures, and each player scored a basket. Jameel Henson had an impressive performance with 16 points and 10 rebounds in just 16 minutes of play. Jermaine Long chipped in 14 points, Kyle Hultgren scored 12, Darius Redrick and Darren Spruill both scored 11, and Tremaine Fraiser contributed 10 points.
Allen shot the ball well from the free-throw line, connecting on 31 of 35 attempts. The Red Devils out rebounded Wentworth by 23 for the game (49-26).
Allen has one more game before the Thanksgiving break. The Red Devils will host Labette CC Tuesday (November 24th) evening for a 7:00 PM tip-off. Allen has a current record of 7-2.
